Indian Navy: Executive Branch as Officers – SSC (General Service / Hydro Cadre)

Applications
are invited from unmarried male candidates for grant of Short Service
Commission (SSC) in the Executive Branch (General Service/Hydro Cadre)
of the Indian Navy for Jan 2012 Course at Indian Naval Academy (INA)
Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates to fulfill condition of nationality as laid
down by the Government of India.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

Age: 19 ½ to 25 years, born between 02 Jan 1987 and 01 Jul 1992; both dates inclusive.

Educational Qualifications: Any of the following:
  1. A Science graduate with Physics & Mathematics with minimum 60% marks from a recognized University.

  2. BE/B Tech with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in any discipline from a institution recognized by AICTE.

  3. Science graduates (Physics & Mathematics) from a recognized
    University holding NCC Naval Wing, Senior Division ‘C’ certificate.

  4. Graduate/Post Graduate in Operations Analysis and Operational
    Research/Quantitative methods with minimum 75% marks from recognised
    university.

  5. Graduate/Post Graduate in Mathematics, with Probability or Statistics with minimum 75% marks from a recognised university.

Note: Candidates who have not completed their graduation need not apply.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS

The candidates must be physically fit according to following physical standards:-

(a) Height and Weight. Minimum height – Male- 157 cms, Female -152 cms with correlated weight.

(b) Eye Sight. 6/24, 6/24 correctable to 6/6 in each eye with glasses. The candidate should not be colour/night blind.

Short Service Commission
  1. Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14
    years, subject to service requirement and performance/willingness of the
    candidate. On completion of these tenures, officers are entitled for
    gratuity under the extant rules. Disciplined life, leadership skills and
    professional skills imbibed during the service would stand as added
    advantages in acquiring second career post exit from the Navy.
  2. CTC of a sub-lieutenant would be approximately 67,000/- p.m.
